The House of Europe in Rhodes has been participating in Youth Leadership, Youth Education projects since 2007, when the Waves of Democracy project was launched between Rhodes and Denmark. It has been partner to various similar projects, like Camp Democracy NEWS (with partners from Sweden, Germany and Romania) and since 2010 it runs the second oldest and largest simulation conference in Greece, Rhodes Model Regional Co-operation, that have hosted more than 1900 people (high school and college students) from 24 countries.

Main Projects

RhodesMRC is dedicated to the Sustainable Development Goals and promotes them since their very adoption. Furthermore, we have completed the year-long project “Expressions in Dialogue” with partners from Estonia, Spain, Italy, Turkey, Lebanon, Egypt and Jordan, funded by the Anna Lindh Foundation, that promoted the practice of Living Libraries specialized on Intercultural Dialogue, which has been expanded and is now an Erasmus+ KA2 program.

Since 2013, the House of Europe runs a Three Day event on Europe, Enterpreneurship and Sustainable Development for the local community, dedicated to promoting good business practices and invites projects to be presented and various experts and institutes to speak on innovation, funding and networking.

Finally, the House is completing in August 2019 the Erasmus+ KA2 project “READ IT – Active Citizens in Rural Areas” with partners from Sweden, France, Germany, Holland and Polland, dedicated to promote strategic partnerships and document best practices for keeping the citizens of rural and remote areas active and involved.
